The effects of ecological devastation are becoming more and more serious in densely populated areas.
As you can see from these pictures of the Niger Delta and other areas of Nigeria, erosion can start after uncontrolled flooding in de-vegetated areas and spread throughout rural and urban areas, destroying roads and villages, devouring farms and homes, and displacing people.
